Michelle Rees is a life-long learner who brings her ambition for knowledge to every client relationship. With more than twenty years of experience supporting teams in the healthcare space, she creates lasting value while envisioning what success means to each individual client/project. Eight years ago, Rees joined the family business brand, REES, with a drive to innovate and leverage the company through business development. Since joining the firm, she works as a partner-in-charge on both domestic and international projects.
Rees has supported her profession by holding offices within IIDA as a NICDQ class facilitator, President of the Texas/Oklahoma chapter, and Vice President of Professional Development. She is active in many organizations that support the work of her healthcare clients, such as the Texas Organization for Rural and Community Hospitals and the Texas Assisted Living Association, among others.
Suzen L. Heeley

Suzen L. Heeley oversees design of an ongoing $2 billion capital program, comprised of new construction and renovation projects in over 30 locations throughout the New York tri-state area. Her work in architectural/design consulting and as an owner's representative includes innovative healthcare, environmental, interior, and exhibit design for Fortune 500 corporations and healthcare systems, earning her awards including Interior Design Magazine’s Best of Year in Healthcare. An advocate of forward-thinking, patient-centered design innovation, Heeley has served on The Center for Health Design Environmental Standards Council. As a U.S. Green Building Council LEED accredited professional, she is an active participant in the Healthy Building Network and the MSK Green Team, promoting sustainable, environmentally responsible design.

Lisa has over 20 years of professional healthcare design experience working in both architecture firms and healthcare facilities. Her extensive background includes working on projects of all types and sizes in healthcare from acute care, ambulatory settings and public spaces. Lisa supports an evidence-based design framework for all projects and encourages a participatory design process with the design team and end users to ensure shared ownership, a positive patient experience and project success. With a master’s degree in cultural studies, Lisa has developed a keen awareness for healthcare design that not only supports healing, but is also sensitive to the diverse multi-cultural and socio-economic populations that are served at the urban, safety-net hospital where she works. As a skillful planner and designer she works with a multi-disciplinary team of colleagues and design professionals to provide appropriate environments that support the needs of patients, families, visitors and staff. Lisa has a keen interest in continuing to understand and develop relationships between our physical environments and human well-being.
