A celebrated hospitality guru with over 25 years of experience, D.B. Kim has been a driving force behind the expansion of multiple global brands. While with the Wanda Hotel Design and Research Institute, Kim helped design more than 30 projects in the Chinese market, overseeing the design direction for new hotel brands Reign, Realm, and Vista. Kim served as vice president of design for Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, currently a part of Marriot International, where he managed the Sheraton, Westin, and W brands. Prior to joining Galaxy Entertainment Group, he held the position of design director at Gensler Shanghai. Kim’s leadership has garnered various accolades and acclaim, including six Gold Key Awards across all luxury hotel design categories.

Julia Monk, FIIDA, FAIA

With 40 years of experience, Julia Monk is the global hospitality thought leader for international design and architecture firm HOK. Throughout her career, Monk has focused on defining luxury guest experiences, starting with the historic renovation of the St. Regis New York. Monk is the recipient of the profession’s highest honors and was co-founder and co-chair of the AIA New York Architecture of Hospitality Committee. She has also been a juror for the distinguished AIA Interior Design Awards, Hospitality Design’s Gold Key Awards, Sleeper‘s AHEAD Awards, and The Hotelier Awards. Her work and design expertise have been published and represented in numerous design publications including Hospitality Design, Contract, Hotel Management, Interior Design, and LODGING Magazine.

Khoi Vo is a former chair of the Savannah College of Art and Design’s (SCAD) Interior Design department, which has been named the nation’s best by DesignIntelligence for both undergraduate and graduate programs. In 2017, DesignIntelligence named Vo as one of the 25 Most Admired Educators in the fields of architecture, interior design, and landscape architecture, recognizing his active engagement in the design community and his leadership in interdisciplinary collaboration. Vo is an active member of the Council of Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA), and in May 2018, he was appointed as vice president for SCAD Hong Kong where he oversees the daily operations of the university.
