The 2015 IIDA Career Bootcamp was held during NeoCon on Wednesday, June 17, 2015. The panel discussion was designed to help jump start the careers of Design students and recent graduates in attendance. A distinguished panel of Design professionals gave students tips and advice on how to get their foot in the door of the Interior Design industry, how to land a job interview, and how to craft effective and attention-grabbing resumes, cover letters, and portfolios.

Students were invited to IIDA Ready to Work, a 30 minute lunch and learn session on dressing professionally for interviews and success in the daily workplace with Alaina Kaczmarski, co-founder and editor of the lifestyle, fashion, and advice website, The Everygirl.

Chicago native Alaina Kaczmarski started her blog, Live Creating Yourself, at a time when she was unsure of the direction her life would take. As she began writing about design, photography, and travel, she realized life would shape itself as long she did what she loved. In 2010, she met fellow blogger, Danielle Moss, and together in February 2012 they launched The Everygirl, a lifestyle, fashion, and advice blog for women. Four months later, The Everygirl was named on Forbes’ “Top 100 Websites for Women” and “Top 10 Websites for Millennial Women.” In addition to The Everygirl, Kaczmarski has a freelance graphic design and styling business. She lives on Chicago’s west side with her two cockapoos, Tucker and Fiona
