Enter Your Chapter for an Award of Excellence

Has your Chapter Created Innovation in the Past Year? Enter now. Be Recognized at NeoCon.

Chapter Awards recognize outstanding achievement in specialty categories and are designed to encourage IIDA Chapters to develop and maintain excellence in their work to enhance the profession at the local level. The awards are given for programming, GRA activities, membership marketing, cross media interaction, community service, educational events, website design and graphic design.

The following is a collection of brief descriptions of the nine Chapter Awards, including a summary of last year’s Award recipients. Use the judging criteria listed for each Award as suggested guidelines – all facets of Award submissions will be taken into consideration. For more details, refer to the International Association Procedures.

Chapters may choose to submit all entries in one master binder or in multiple category binders. If an award category requires binder submission (all except the Graphic Awards), all materials must fit into an 8.5” x 11” three-ring binder. Chapters may photograph larger items, such as mugs, as necessary. Supplemental materials submitted should not exceed ten (10) pages front and back. All submissions must include the following for every Award entry.

  1. Submission statement adhering to the word limit stated for each category (including event goals, timeframe and description for why the Chapter deserves the award)
  2. Budget statement, including profit and loss
  3. Attendance
  4. Photos and/or graphics from the program
  5. Other supporting documents, within the limit of 10 pages
  • If submitting separate binder entries, each should include:
  1. 1.5” thick 8.5” x 11” three ring binder
  2. Each section must include the Awards Entry Form
  • If submitting one Master Binder, this binder should include:
  1. 3” thick 8.5” x 11” three ring binder
  2. Each submission must be clearly separated by dividers and labeled in the binder
  3. Each section must include the Awards Entry Form
  • For Graphics awards, submitted display board should not exceed 30” x 42”, should be flat and unfolded/uncreased.
  • City Center and Campus Center programs may be submitted; however, the governing Chapter will be the recipient of the Award and can recognize the Campus Center locally.
  • Please use use one entry form per submission.

Award submissions must be received by IIDA HQ by Tuesday, April 20, 2012

All submissions must be the original work of the Chapter and/or City Center. Entered work must have taken place between April 1, 2011, and March 31, 2012.

The judging panel consists of experts in association best practices. The judges are looking for content and quality, not quantity. Award levels include First Place, and Honorable Mention – judges are not required to award at all levels.

Results will be announced at the IIDA Annual Meeting during NeoCon 2012.
