Mitchell Cohen & Diane Schroeder

Diane Schroeder and Mitchell Cohen

Mitchell Cohen and Diane Schroeder started their GHK careers in the fall of 1980 and have worked together and individually for nearly four decades since. Cohen, with a Bachelor of Science in Design from the University of Cincinnati’s College of Design, Architecture, and Art, has held various creative and management roles with GHK ultimately leading the firm as President and CEO. In 2006, he led the effort of merging GHK with NELSON continuing as Managing Principal. Schroeder, who has served as Vice President and Design Director of GHK for 27 years, developed her career after receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Nebraska. Persistently following the idea of interior design as an art form, she worked for a design firm in Lincoln, followed by the international firms Leo A Daly and HOK, and her own design business in St. Louis. Professionally and personally, Cohen and Schroeder bring leadership to excellence in design. They both feel honored and humbled to be mentioned ‘In the spirit of Ray and Charles Eames’ whom they so admire.
