IIDA has named Amy Campos, IIDA, recipient of its 2013 IIDA Educator of the Year Award. Amy serves as Assistant Professor at California College of the Arts, in addition to being owner and principal of her own firm, ACA, in San Francisco. Her extensive body of work seamlessly intertwines her design accomplishments with those of her role as a full-time educator. In addition to teaching and developing new courses in the Undergraduate Interior Design Program at CCA, Amy has distinguished herself through her exhibitions, numerous grant awards from CCA and elsewhere; and publication in various prestigious journals, including The International Journal of Interior Architecture + Space Design; Forward; and Architecture Australia. She has been a regular Architecture Division Faculty Mentor for ENGAGE, a community outreach/service-learning initiative, and a consistent and reliable Educational Leader to aspiring design students. At this writing, she is currently at work on co-developing an upper-level Undergraduate Interdisciplinary Studio program focused on sustainability.
