CEU: Sustainable Flooring Essentials

December 07, 2011

Event Type: Industry Event

Description:
In Ceramic tile or decorative concrete? Marble or granite? Laminate, hardwood, or bamboo? And does anyone use linoleum or parquet tiles any more? What about the new anti-microbial and slip resistant coatings on the market? Our eight-hour "Sustainable Flooring Essentials" seminar provides an in-depth review of the essential information needed to design for the best available sustainable flooring materials based on your project application needs. The course reviews the newest technologies and standards created to assist in the green building initiative from a materials and methods standpoint of floor covering materials. Discussions range from recycled content to slip resistance management to antimicrobial treatments for flooring materials. We revert the decision making process from lowest cost flooring to best life cycle cost based on the flooring application needs of the project. Includes 1 hour dedicated to barrier-free design and 1 hour dedicated to sustainable design.
