IDCEC # 40289

December 15, 2011
Event Type: Industry Event
This 8-hour seminar provides a holistic approach to lighting design, from basic knowledge of light quality, quantity, and energy consumption (as well as its effects on the user's safety and health) to the latest in lighting applications, regulations, and technologies. We first cover artificial light source properties, their use and applications in interior environments and later explore the effects of light on health, safety and accessibility with special implications for older adults. Two hours are dedicated to code-related items and provide an understanding of energy codes and sustainability standards as they pertain to lighting design. Includes 1 hour dedicated to barrier-free design and 1 hour dedicated to sustainable design.
