How the art you specify affects health, safety and well-being

December 04, 2009
Event Type: National Event
Style or Substance? When it comes to Art, there is more than meets the eye. Art - from architectural details to fine arts and whether used as a source of inspiration, a focal point or a mere after-thought - is too often specified solely for aesthetic reasons. Join us as we unravel the ambiguous aspects of specifying Art and demonstrate how your practice and clients can benefit from the Art you incorporate in your projects. This seminar not only serves as a crash course in Art appreciation and current trends but also and most importantly provides the tools to educate clients on the merits of Art. We explore how to specify or commission pieces that play an active role in enhancing health, safety, and well-being in corporate, healthcare, and residential environments, as well as in community planning at large. Case studies of public and private projects illustrate ways in which Art, when used as an integral part of design, bridges architecture, interior design, and landscape architecture.
