NeoCon East 2014 Career Bootcamp

The 2014 IIDA Career Bootcamp™ will be held during NeoCon East on Thursday, October 30 2014. It is designed to jumpstart the careers of Design students and recent graduates in attendance. A distinguished panel of Design professionals will give students wonderful tips and advice on how to get their foot in the door of the Interior Design industry, how to land a job interview, and how to craft effective and attention-grabbing resumes, cover letters and portfolios.

Panelists:

Jessica Callaway, Associate IIDA, LEED GA

Hickok Cole Architects

Jessica Callaway is an Interior Designer at Hickok Cole Architects. She graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design. Jessica sits on the IIDA Mid-Atlantic Chapter Board; internally, she is a member of Hickok Cole’s Full Circle Committee – a philanthropic group dedicated to community service. Jessica is interested in how the workplace can meet today’s cultural and global challenges – how can we create work environments that allow teams to be more productive, attract and retain talent, support employee wellbeing, all while promoting great design? In her free time she enjoys attending football games in Blacksburg (Go Hokies!), experimenting with new recipes, fishing off her dock at the bay, and eating raw oysters.

Kelly Ennis, CID, IIDA

The Verve Partnership

Kelly Ennis, has been involved in the fundamental evolution of corporate interiors in a varying degree of project types over the past twenty years. With a full understanding of translating brand, business strategy and culture into interior spaces, her expertise is in nailing, early on, how these three points impact the workplace-from a planning and design standpoint. Her experience gives her the opportunity to translate extensively the future of work and the current and changing workplace trends and how those trends affect employee engagement, businesses and the environment. Kelly is involved in many industry and non-industry associations where she has chaired committees, led round-table panels, and created an event benefiting, via a scholarship fund, students of Interior Design and Architecture. She is a certified/licensed interior designer in many jurisdictions and holds a BFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art.
