IIDA Forums offer a venue for discussion with professionals in similar fields and dissemination of information on trends, problem-solving strategies and perspectives on current or developing areas of design practice within specific markets. Each Forum is represented by a Forum Advisor who works with a task force of industry leaders to monitor trends in the profession and communicates updates to the Members through seminars and tradeshows. They also participate in Chapter events, and provide editorial updates in Perspective and DesignMatters.

Forums evolve and interact for many different initiatives. Led by the Vice President of Professional Development, the Forum Advisors create a committee that works together to generate conversation and collaboration. The VP of Professional Development:

Works with Headquarters staff to create programs and recommend policies relating to the Forums
Helps organize programs for continuing education and development
Serves as the liaison with accreditation and certification organizations
