Denise Cherry, an industry leader from San Francisco, California, has been a design principal at Assembly Design Studio and Studio O+A. Her renowned work with Facebook, Uber, Microsoft, and Yelp has been recognized by Interior Design magazine, Bloomberg Businessweek, Contract magazine, Wired, Fast Company, Metropolis, among others. She has been named Curbed’s Young Gun, an award that recognizes rising design talent nationwide, and is an honoree for the Northern California Real Estate Women of Influence.

 

Johannes Lampela

Johannes Lampela leads a multidisciplinary team of designers and creative directors working on a variety of projects ranging from private and public mobility, consumer goods, capital equipment, medical devices, workplace furniture solutions, and hospitality design. Some of his key projects include Singapore Airlines First Class seat and cabin, Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) fleet of the future, Allsteel Clarity, Clubhouse, and Reflect workplace furniture designs. Prior to joining Designworks in 2005, Lampela formed a design collective in Milan collaborating with Future Concept Lab, Domus Academy, and several residential and urban furniture manufacturers.

Lampela earned his bachelor’s degree from Lahti Design Institute and a master’s degree from Domus Academy. He is a frequent guest lecturer at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California.

Joe Lawton

Joe Lawton's founding of Media Objectives at Valerio Dewalt Train (M-O) was born from his passion for creating holistic, engaging, and inspiring experiences. His current work includes developing a new hotel brand in the Silicon Valley, as well as experiential branding for Adobe’s workplaces around the globe.

He was recently awarded with Interior Design magazine's HiP Award in 2018 for graphics and branding and was profiled in Metropolis magazine’s July/August 2018 issue on new talent. Other awards include SEGD's Global Design Award and a National Service Award from the American Institute of Architects.

Lawton is co-chair for the Chicago chapter of the Society for Experiential Graphic Design (SEGD) and served as the co-chair for their Annual Conference in 2015. He received a bachelor's degree in architectural studies and a certificate in urban planning from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2006.
