2018 IIDA Healthcare Power Lunch Industry Leaders



Edwin BeltranEdwin Beltran, IIDA, Assoc. AIA

Edwin Beltran is principal of NBBJ’s Interior Architecture and Design Practice, leading some of the firm’s most notable and award-winning healthcare interiors. Influenced by his training as an architect and keen eye for interior design, Beltran’s approach to design translates client goals into comprehensive, conceptual frameworks in which form, function, space, light, color, materials, and human experience are thoughtfully choreographed to embody the unique ethos of each institution.

Beltran holds an environmental design degree from the University of Puerto Rico and a master's in architecture from The Ohio State University, where he has served as an adjunct faculty member and guest critic of the university’s Knowlton School of Architecture. He has also been a guest critic for design reviews at the Catholic University of America, Illinois Institute of Technology, the University of Puerto Rico, and the Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico. His design work has been recognized with multiple AIA and IIDA honor awards and featured in national and international publications such as Architectural Record, Interior Design, Contract, Metropolis, Fast Company, Healthcare Design, Modern Healthcare, and The Wall Street Journal.


Richelle CelliniRichelle Cellini
Visualization Specialist
Construction Specialties 

Richelle Cellini is a visualization specialist with Construction Specialties. Her expertise in interior architecture for various markets combined with her talent for fostering client relations makes her a strong liaison between marketing and sales teams throughout product development and sales cycles.

Cellini is a seasoned designer who has spent her career collaborating with customers to understand their individual design needs. She helps provide product recommendations for protecting interiors and enhancing existing aesthetics. Cellini advises on the development of customized building product solutions to solve customers’ challenges and create intelligent built environments with sustainability in mind. She has a passion for partnering with stakeholders to design healing environments by incorporating innovative products that improve the patient experience.

Cellini holds a bachelor's degree in interior architecture.    


Stasia Czech SuleimanStasia Czech Suleiman, IIDA
Principal/Senior Project Interior Designer

Stasia Czech Suleiman is a principal and senior project interior designer at HOK who has dedicated her career to designing impactful educational and healthcare environments. She leads and oversees marketing efforts for the firm’s Columbus office and leads design efforts on complex healthcare projects across the nation.

Suleiman has led the interior design for some of the world’s largest and most forward-thinking healthcare, civic, and educational design projects in her career, including Southeast Louisiana Veterans Health Care System Replacement Medical Center, The Columbus Metropolitan Library, and The Ohio State University. Her design work has been noted by top publications Interior Design magazine, Architectural Record, and Metropolis, and she’s a frequent speaker on trends in healthcare design, future thinking, and best practices. As an industry thought leader, she’s a frequent presenter at industry conferences including NeoCon and Labs 21 Annual Conference.


Suzen HeeleySuzen L. Heeley, IIDA
Executive Director of Design and Construction 
Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center 

Suzen L. Heeley is the executive director of design and construction at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. She is responsible for design of an ongoing $2 billion capital program, comprised of new construction and renovation projects in over 30 locations throughout the New York tri-state area.

Her past work in architectural/design consulting and as an owner's representative includes innovative healthcare, environmental, interior, and exhibit design for Fortune 500 corporations and healthcare organizations. She has been honored with achievements from The Center for Health Design, Modern Healthcare, Pioneering Women, Contract Healthcare Environment Awards and Interior Design magazine’s Best of Year in healthcare.

An activist for forward-thinking, patient-centered healthcare design innovation, Heeley has served on The Center for Health Design Environmental Standards Council, lectures nationally to advocate for healthcare design and is a member of the Editorial Advisory Board for Contract and Healthcare Design magazines. As a U.S. Green Building Council LEED Accredited Professional, she is an active participant in the Healthy Building Network and the MSK Green Team, promoting sustainable, environmentally responsible design that responds to the connection between health and the built environment.


Amy Sickeler, IIDA
Principal/Design Principal

Amy Sickeler is a principal/design principal for the Perkins+Will Atlanta office’s interiors department. She has dedicated her career to the design of innovative healing spaces and has worked to provide healthy buildings and Interiors to her clients and users. Providing a broad knowledge of healthy work place theories to many building types brings a richness to her sustainable healing practice.

Sickeler has worked with some of the leading healthcare institutions as well as other institutional projects in the world including Duke University, a senior living hospice project for Wilson House, and an HMC simulation project and the Sim Center projects for the Mayo Clinic. Internationally, she has worked on projects ranging from women's hospitals to behavior health facilities as well as neuroscience hospitals in the Middle East. 

Her projects have won numerous awards from AIA, IIDA, Healthcare Environments, and Modern Healthcare. She has participated as a guest critic at Georgia Tech and SCAD Design Schools. Sickeler is a member of IIDA and CHID-AAHID, and is a LEED-accredited professional.
