As IA Interior Architect’s Healthcare Design Practice Area Leader, Carol is directly involved in all aspects of planning, design and execution for the firm’s health and wellness projects. Carol has spent the last 30 years successfully managing complex healthcare projects as well as tracking healthcare industry trends and benchmarking. Carol’s work experience also includes long-term and continuing care environments, government, commercial and educational clients.

Tama Duffy, FIIDA, FASID

Tama Duffy Day, FIIDA, FASID, is a firm-wide Practice Area Leader of Health and Wellness at Gensler, the leading global design and architecture firm. Tama has a significant body of knowledge in health-focused design; ranging from projects with academic medical centers and community hospitals, to ambulatory care and community health centers. A frequent columnist, lecturer and spokesperson, Tama is dedicated to raising awareness of the power of design to impact lives and enrich communities. She has received more than 50 awards and honors for her work, including being named one of the “Most Influential People in Healthcare Design” by Healthcare Design magazine. Tama was recently awarded the 2014 ASID Designer of Distinction Award, recognizing the highest level of excellence in interior design.

Linda M. Gabel, AAHID, IIDA

Linda has over 30 years of professional design experience, with the last 26 dedicated to pediatric and adult acute healthcare, memory care, and senior living environments. Through hands-on collaboration with patients, residents, families, staff, and artists, Linda is able to create award winning environments that strengthen the care provider’s ability to provide true family-centered care, and support the needs of diverse socio-economic backgrounds, cultures and age groups. Linda collaborates with the entire design team to create interior environments that enhance the healing process and reduce stress of patients, their families and caregivers. Her strong focus on an evidence-based design methodology and research in designing healthcare facilities provides enhanced value to the client for years to come. As the 2005-2009 IIDA Healthcare Forum Advisor and 2010-2013 Credentialing Regent on the board of AAHID, Linda provides active leadership in the design of healthcare environments on an international level.
