December 10, 2009, Chicago, IL - The International Interior Design Association (IIDA) announces the appointment of Michael Ancheta as Managing Director, Education Services and Programs and the promotion of Ely Padilla to Director of Continuing Education within the Education Department at IIDA Headquarters.

Prior to joining IIDA, Mr. Ancheta was with Merchandise Mart Properties, Inc., serving over ten years in their Trade Show Division, primarily as an Operations Manager. He worked with staff to support over 20 trade and consumer shows and events throughout the year, including: NeoCon World’s Trade Fair, NeoCon West, NeoCon Canada and NeoCon East. In this position, Mr. Ancheta established strategic relationships with key vendors, union contractors and exhibit representatives, including leaders in their industries, to improve and maintain optimum performance of services and show production.

In his new role, Mr. Ancheta will oversee the Association’s Education programs and services for Members. In addition, he will collaborate with Forum advisors and work with the Marketing team to share IIDA leaders' expertise at shows and conferences around the world.

With more than 13 years at IIDA HQ, Ms. Padilla is a familiar face around IIDA and has consistently demonstrated unparalleled efforts in delivering excellent Member service. Her experience with Chapter Leaders, Members with questions regarding compliance, and Manufacturers looking to share their industry expertise in the form of CEUs will serve her well in her new role.
