June 14, 2009, Chicago, IL – Lewis Goetz, FIIDA, FAIA, College of Fellows Chair for the International Interior Design Association (IIDA), inducted two IIDA Members to the Association’s College of Fellows at IIDA’s Fourteenth Annual Meeting on Sunday, June 14. Admission to the College of Fellows is the highest honor that the Association bestows upon Professional Members, recognizing those who have made outstanding contributions to IIDA and to the interior design profession. The two new IIDA Fellows are: 


Gerard F.X. “Guy” Geier, FIIDA, FAIA (New York, New York)

An interior designer and architect with over 25 years of experience in the design and management of corporate and institutional projects, Guy Geier, IIDA, leads the FXFOWLE Interiors Studio in New York City.  A strong proponent of the value design plays in creating a healthy and productive workplace, Guy focuses on developing spaces that reflect a client’s mission and current program, while anticipating future needs.  Guy’s portfolio includes many award-winning and published projects: the Arizona State University School of Architecture building won a P/A Award; Turkiye Is Bankase in Istanbul received the SARA Grand Prize Design Award and was published in Interior Design magazine; GRID and Interiors and Sources magazine featured StarMedia offices; and the LVMH Tower was published in Architecture, Architectural Record, and won a coveted AIA New York Chapter Design Award. 

He is a past president of IIDA’s New York Chapter and has served on the Board of Interior Designers for Legislation in New York (IDLNY). Recognizing his contributions to the profession, the American Institute of Architects named Guy a Fellow of the Institute, and he is currently serving as the New York Regional Representative to the AIA College of Fellows.   

Guy has been a featured speaker at a number of industry conferences including SMPS New York and Philadelphia Chapters, NACORE New York, IFMA National Convention, ICFF New York, NeoCon Chicago, and AIA New York Chapter and has written articles for many industry publications.


Kendall P. Wilson, FIIDA, FAIA, (Washington D.C.)

Ken Wilson, IIDA, is one of the nation’s leading designers specializing in sustainable interiors. Ken Wilson emerged as a leader in the field of sustainable design after completing the award winning Greenpeace USA Headquarters in 2000, a project widely hailed as one of the forerunner projects of the green interiors movement.  

Ken has led the firm he founded, Envision Design, in becoming a nationally recognized sustainable design practice.  His high profile projects include the headquarters for the International Interior Design Association (IIDA), the headquarters for the Recording Industry Association of America, and most recently, the new headquarters for the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) in Washington, DC. 

Ken has served as IIDA's Sustainability Forum Advisor from 2003–2007 and formed IIDA’s Sustainability Task Force in 2004.  In 2006, he facilitated the 1st Annual IIDA/Metropolis Smart Environments Design Competition, a program to recognize and promote interior environments that are both beautiful and sustainable. Ken was the recipient of an IIDA Presidential Commendation in 2008.  In 2005, Ken joined the ranks of numerous well-known designers in being selected as Designer of the Year by Contract magazine and was also included in the Metropolitan Home magazine’s prestigious Design 100.
