With our partner, Hospitality Design magazine, the IIDA/HD Product Design Competition honors designers and manufacturers for stepping out of the box when it comes to product design for the hospitality industry.
 

PURPOSE | To honor innovation, function, and aesthetic advancements in the hospitality industry.

WHO SHOULD ENTER | Products designed for the environment of a hospitality installation.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS | Only products offered for sale or use after June 1, 2009 are eligible for design awards. Must be an HD Expo exhibitor to request an entry kit for the competition.

JUDGING CRITERIA | Products will be judged in the following categories: Applied Finishes and Materials (Wall coverings, treatments, paint/coatings), Textiles (Upholstery and bedspread/drapery/casement), Flooring (Carpet/rugs, hard surfaces, resilients), Seating: Individual (Dining, lounge, outdoor), Seating: Group (Dining, lounge, outdoor), Lighting (Individual, group/series), Casegoods and Freestanding Furniture (Individual and series/collections), Accessories or Specialties (Hardware/decorative metals, storage systems and artwork/signage).

The winner is determined by a jury of design professionals. The jury reserves the right to not select a winner from the entries submitted for this competition.

AWARDS | Winners will be announced at the Hospitality Design magazine’s Platinum Circle Gala during the HD Expo in Las Vegas, NV. All winning products, manufacturers, and designers will be published in Hospitality Design magazine and in IIDA’s Perspective magazine.

DEADLINES | Deadline to request entry kit: Friday, April 16, 2010.
Deadline to submit completed entries: Thursday, April 29, 2010.
