Jose EstevezJose L. Estevez, AIA, LEED AP
MGE Architects-A NELSON Company

Jose L. Estevez, one of the founding partners of MGE/NELSON, has almost 40 years of experience in the healthcare design industry. His vast portfolio includes planning, programming and designing of healthcare, education, and research projects for leading institutions. His experience includes hospitals, outpatient centers, conference facilities, classrooms, research laboratories, and parking garages. He consistently delivers projects within budget while offering creative planning solutions. As project principal, he leads the entire team assuring that client goals and time schedules are met.



Suzen L HeeleySuzen L. Heeley, IIDA, LEED AP
Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center

Suzen L. Heeley is the executive director of design and construction at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. She is responsible for design of an ongoing $2 billion capital program, comprised of new construction and renovation projects in over 30 locations throughout the New York tri-state area.

Her past work in architectural/design consulting and as an owner's representative includes innovative healthcare, environmental, interior, and exhibit design for Fortune 500 corporations and healthcare organizations. She has been honored with achievements from The Center for Health Design, Modern Healthcare, Pioneering Women, Contract Healthcare Environment Awards and Interior Design magazine’s Best of Year in healthcare.

An activist for forward-thinking, patient-centered healthcare design innovation, she has served on The Center for Health Design Environmental Standards Council, lectures nationally to advocate for healthcare design and is a member of the Editorial Advisory Board for Contract agazine. As a U.S. Green Building Council LEED Accredited Professional, Suzen is an active participant in the Healthy Building Network and the MSK Green Team, promoting sustainable, environmentally responsible design that responds to the connection between health and the built environment. 

 

Kim MontagueKimberly Montague, AIA, EDAC, LEED AP
Herman Miller Healthcare

Kimberly Montague has been a licensed architect for over 25 years and currently serves as healthcare knowledge and insights program lead for Herman Miller Healthcare, working to develop strategy and research knowledge programs toward innovations in human-centered design.

 

A combination of a passion for healing environments and environmentally conscious design concepts, Kimberly demonstrates commitment to human-centered design by a strong commitment to evidence-based design principles and lean practices as well. By examining the environment from the patient’s perspective, coupled with a personal commitment to promoting health and wellness, her critical eye detects areas within a facility that support healing, or in some cases, can become barriers to furthering safe, effective and efficient healing environments.

Previously recognized by Healthcare Design magazine as one of healthcare’s Top 25 Most Influential People in healthcare design, Kimberly launched the Planetree Visionary Design Network to recognize excellence in creating patient-centered healing environments for architectural and design firms.              

 

Amy E. Corneliussen Sickeler, IIDA, CHID, LEED AP BD+C
Perkins+Will

Amy E. Corneliussen Sickeler is a director of design and healthcare interiors design leader for the Perkins + Will Atlanta office’s interiors department. She has dedicated her career to the design of innovative healing spaces and has worked to provide healthy buildings and Interiors to her clients and users. Providing a broad knowledge of healthy work place theories to many building types brings a richness to her sustainable healing practice.

Amy has worked with some of the leading healthcare institutions as well as other institutional projects in the world including Duke University, a senior living hospice project for Wilson House, and an HMC simulation project and the Sim Center projects for the Mayo Clinic. Internationally she has worked on projects ranging from women's hospitals to behavior health facilities as well as neuroscience hospitals in the Middle East. 

Her projects have won numerous awards from AIA, IIDA, Healthcare Environments, and Modern Healthcare. She has participated as a guest critic at Georgia Tech and SCAD Design Schools. She is a member of IIDA and CHID-AAHID, and is a LEED-accredited professional.
