The establishment of the Sustainable Design Education Fund is an important Foundation initiative. Created through the generosity of Maharam, this fund serves as a vehicle to advance the awareness and knowledge on the topic of sustainable design.
IIDA Professional and Associate Members who take and pass the LEED Accreditation Exam may apply for consideration for tuition reimbursement. The following IIDA Members have been recipients of this program:
Only IIDA Members in good standing are eligible to participate. Members who have taken and passed the exam in the time period of July 1, 2011 through December 31, 2011 may request consideration for reimbursement.
Members are requested to forward the following with their application: written confirmation from USGBC of passing the exam and proof of payment. Deadline to submit this information to IIDA Headquarters is 5:00 P.M./Central Time, Friday, February 3, 2012.
Maximum reimbursement will be $450. In the event that a member’s firm pays a portion of the cost of the exam, the IIDA member can still apply for reimbursement for the portion he/she has paid for.
The Foundation will award financial assistance to 5 (five) IIDA Members. The process for determining the five recipients will be a lottery system. Recipients will be notified in March 2012.
