Sustainable Leadership Awards

Awarding the Leaders of the Sustainability Movement

These awards honor outstanding contributions to sustainable design and development leadership, and winners will be featured in global outreach. Awards are given in Interior Design, Architectural Design and Development.

The awards are sponsored by IIDA, AIA – Committees on the Environment and Interior Architecture and CoreNet Global.

“Green” is Always Growing

Each year designers are becoming more and more green with their practices. This competition truly showcases the most innovative sustainable designs out there.

The Winners of the 6th Annual Sustainable Leadership Awards

Judges for these 2008 awards included: Nick Axford, Ph.D., Head, Research and Consulting Department, CB Richard Ellis; Holley Henderson, IIDA, LEED AP, Principal, H2EcoDesign; Gail Lindsey, FAIA. LEED AP Principal, Design Harmony; Richard Logan, AIA, Gensler, retired; Mike Napier, Head of Real Estate, Shell International; Sanford “Sandy” Smith, Manager, Corporate Manager, Real Estate and Facilities, Toyota Motor Sales USA; and Ken Wilson, AIA, IIDA, LEED AP, Principal, Envision Design. The winners were:

  • For Achievement in Sustainable Design: Not-For-Profit Organizations
    GSBS Architects with the Escalante National Monument
  • For Achievement in Sustainable Design: Commercial Projects
    Liberty Property Trust for JohnsonDiversey, Inc.
  • For Achievement in Sustainable Development
    Perkins+Will on their Sustainable Design Initiative (SDI) Strategic Plan and the Green Operations Plan
