IIDA Tennessee Chapter is a professional networking and educational association comprised of interior design professionals dedicated to the protection of the health, safety, and welfare of the public. We are committed to enhancing the quality of life through excellence in interior design.
Our focus is centered on three main points: Design, Legislation and Professional Development.
It is all about Design…we are a group of new and seasoned designers of interior environments. This is what we do… We need to continue to build on the knowledge and understanding of how we can provide better interior spaces and places for our clients and the public. We need to learn and share, so we can all advance.
Design, both good and bad, affects all of us… As we continue to build on the case for a “Practice Act” for interior designers in the state of Tennessee, it will be extremely important to advance public awareness of what we do as interior designers. We must continue to educate ourselves, the general public, and our legislators on the importance of Interior Design as it relates to the health, safety and welfare of everyone. The Chapter challenges everyone to be an advocate for our Legislation.
Design is everywhere…we are just one of the many groups that practice the art and craft of “design.” Architects, graphic designers, product designers, fashion designers, landscape architects, engineers, industrial designers, production designers, set designers… the list goes on and on. Each craft has an impact on the other by influencing trends and best practices. We must connect the field of Interior Design with other design professions in order to learn, share knowledge and inspiration about what “good” design is all about.
