IIDA is proud to announce the winners of the 2015 Student Design Competition: The Future of the Urban University.

The jury panel included: Nick Blessinger (Director of Marketing and Education, OFS Brands), James Kerrigan, IIDA (Design Principal, Jacobs), Krystal R. Lucero, IIDA (Senior Interior Designer, Edwards + Mulhausen Interior Design), and Robyn Taylor, IIDA, CID (Director of Design, Westgroup Designs).

The 2015 Student Design Competition challenged participants to reimagine the design of the urban university to accommodate multiple functions in a single, multi-level space that combines learning, living, business, and community within the classic academic and current social spheres of higher education.

 

FIRST PLACE: CITY WITHIN CITY

City Within City interprets the structure of a city within a historical building, blending the academic with the social and creating a community among students, faculty, and neighbors.

Terminal focuses on essential, flexible, and interactive spaces that provide a casual collaborative work environment and offer all of the resources necessary to inspire creativity.
