Anne Marie CunninghamAnne Marie Cunningham, FIIDA, Assoc. AIA
Interior Design Principal

Anne Marie Cunningham is an interior design principal at NBBJ, which was named one of the most innovative design firms in the world by Fast Company. A recognized leader in the industry for more than 30 years, Cunningham has created invigorating and enriching interiors for clients at the forefront of their industries, including Amazon, Samsung, Boeing, Vulcan, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. She serves as interior design leader on NBBJ’s Design Practice Leadership team and Design Board, which guides design strategy and implementation within the firm. A sought-after speaker, thought leader, and design competition juror, Cunningham has served as a panelist for the Seattle Architecture Foundation’s lecture series on developing community through design and participated as a juror for the IIDA Interior Design Competition and its Design Excellence Awards in Portland. Her work has been featured by the BBC, Interior Design, The New York Times, Wired, ArchRecord, The New Yorker, Fortune, and Metropolis. She also serves on the editorial advisory board of Contract magazine.

Marlene Liriano is the managing director of the Miami office of IA Interior Architects. For more than 32 years, Liriano has successfully delivered innovative and thoughtful design solutions that exceed her client’s expectations. Liriano’s approach is built on advancing the business goals of her clients, supporting the organization’s culture, and maximizing their productivity. Her work has perpetuated a tradition of insight, cultivated a spirit of team collaboration, and promoted thought leadership with rare expertise resulting in multiple design awards, publications, and numerous long-term client accounts. She has been honored by the Miami Chapter of the American Institute of Architects with the Interior Designer of the Year Award for her excellence in leadership and notable architecture and interior design, and is the 2016-2017 president of the IIDA International Board of Directors.


Janet Pogue McLaurinJanet Pogue McLaurin, FIIDA, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, LEED AP ID+C

Workplace Sector Leader, Principal 


Janet Pogue McLaurin is one of Gensler’s key researchers and thought leaders on how the physical workplace impacts work. McLaurin currently co-leads Gensler’s global Work Sector comprised of 15 practice areas representing approximately $300 million of annual revenue and 23 funded research grants in 2015-2016 alone, including the 2016 Workplace Survey research in U.S., U.K., Asia, and Latin America. She serves on Gensler’s Management Committee and is focused on growing client relationships and project portfolio, building marketplace reputation, and delivering innovative design for all 31 firm-wide practice areas. As a project principal and hands-on workplace strategist, McLaurin takes an active role on key projects across the firm and is responsible for strategic planning, mobility studies, change management, and innovative workplace environments for a variety of clients in both government and private sector industries.


Julia SimetJulia Simet, FIIDA, LEED AP

Principal and Managing Director


Julia Simet is a principal and managing director at Gensler. Based in New York, she provides leadership to the office’s 17 studio directors and drives the strategic vision and planning for the New York office. Simet is currently a member of Gensler’s Management Committee and Board of Directors, focusing her efforts on client relationships and leadership development. With over 30 years of experience, she is recognized as a premier expert in the planning and design of workplaces for the professional services industry. She is a trusted advisor to many of the most respected global law firms, including Proskauer, Paul Weiss, Simpson Thacher & Bartlett, Morrison & Foerster, Cravath, Kaye Scholer, Paul Hastings, and Weil Gotshal. Simet has also led large, complex workplace projects for the financial services, media, and consumer products industries. Her experience in these sectors includes headquarters relocations and renovations-in-place for The Boston Consulting Group, Nomura, the Carlyle Group, Hearst, Michael Kors, and more.
