If you are an interior designer with a minimum of two years formal interior design education, and are not NCIDQ-certified, you qualify as an IIDA Associate Member.  Your application must include:

  • Photocopy of official college transcript or diploma documenting your design education credentials.

Membership Dues

Below you will find a list of the IIDA yearly dues. All IIDA memberships run on the calendar year, January through December. All new members and members reactivating their memberships will have a onetime $75 application fee added to their dues. New memberships are prorated on a quarterly basis. Full prices are listed below.

Associates are designers who are actively engaged in the profession and meet the educational requirement of completing two to four years of coursework in an interior design or architecture program. Associate membership includes three progressive levels with individual dues based on length of consecutive membership:

AS1 (1-2 years of membership): $295
AS2 (3-5 years of membership): $435
AS3 (6+ years of membership):  $515

New Members
New memberships are prorated on a quarterly basis by join date:
Jan. 1 to March 31, 2018:    $295
April 1 to June 30, 2018:      $221
July 1 to Aug. 31, 2018:   $147

Inactive or Retired?

If you are an active IIDA Member in good standing and have retired or are unable to continue practicing due to disability, illness, unemployment, or relocation, contact to inquire about Inactive or Retired status.

Code of Ethics for Associate Member Conduct

IIDA believes it is essential for all Members to conduct business in a respectable and responsible manner between fellow IIDA Members and the general public. It is the responsibility of all IIDA Members to adopt and uphold these guidelines of behavior of the code of ethics, presenting a positive reflection of themselves, the industry and the Association.
