Walt Ehmer

Walt Ehmer is president and chief executive officer of Waffle House, Inc. He graduated from Georgia Tech in 1989 with a bachelor’s in industrial and systems engineering. Upon graduating from Georgia Tech, Ehmer began his career as a sales engineer for Allen-Bradley Company in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Ehmer joined Waffle House in 1992 as a senior buyer in the purchasing department. He was promoted to director of purchasing in 1996, vice president of finance in 1999, chief financial officer in 2001, president in 2006, and CEO in 2012.

Ehmer has served as a member of the Georgia Tech Industrial Engineering Advisory Board, the Georgia Tech Alumni Association Board of Trustees, and the Georgia Tech President’s Advisory Board. He is a past chair of the Georgia Tech Alumni Association and currently serves as a trustee of the Georgia Tech Foundation. He also serves on the Board of the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, the Atlanta Police Foundation, and the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Foundation.

Kris Kirchner

Kris Kirchner, IIDA, ASID, is now in her twentieth year as the principal of K2J Inc. Her experience ranges from the development of master standards programs to the innovative design of facilities for women, children, and medical suites.

After graduating from Iowa State University, Kirchner began her career in healthcare design at HDR, Inc. In 1998, Kirchner founded K2J, Inc., to allow her the opportunity to focus her passion for healthcare design on the Atlanta market with a core group of creative designers. She built the company on the philosophy that a designer must take a detail-oriented, proactive role to challenge the client toward innovative design solutions, tailored to their unique needs.
